Good & Heartless Alice - Kingdom Hearts

The Alice costumes were made about a week before Anime Expo 2003, using a few different patterns, including a child's "Alice" pattern, a retro apron pattern, and a Victorian bodice pattern. The idea behind the Alice costumes was to play off the normal and "Heartless" characters in Kingdom Hearts.

To make the costumes, we picked up character shoes, which are general dance/acting shoes and can be purchased from any dance store. A "circle skirt", hair bows, and tights completed the look. The hardest part of this costume was making the upper part of the dress, which has princess seams. The petticoats are constructed from tulle and edged in lace.

The funniest part about wearing the costumes was how often we got asked if we were from Miyuki-chan in Wonderland. Uhhh, no.
