Fire Fairy - Original

The bodice was made using Simplicity pattern 5843 and crepe-back gold satin. Dahlia altered it slightly by sewing red ribbon over the seams, adding funky bead trim to the top, and using grommets to lace it up instead of the method they suggested. 

The wrap skirt she patterned herself. It has a "base" of red satin, with alternating triangles of red and gold satin and red sheer. The arm floofies are scraps of red sheer, sewn on to elastic bands. The tights were purchased on sale at Nordstrom's, the shoes are regular ballet flats, and the wings were purchased at the Colorado Renfaire. At Nan Desu Kan, Dahlia wore this outfit with her Yuna braid and earring and called herself "Fire Faerie Yuna." ^^;
