Pine - Space Channel 5, Part 2
Lilacwire used the Star Wars Amidala pattern for this costume (the one with the spandex pants), and it turned out to be a completely bad pattern. After lots of editing, the pants finally fit like they should, and it was time to tackle the top. Using an old pattern for a sleeveless turtleneck, she ended up with the top, and was pretty happy, although it involved a lot of taking in, since spandex is evil.
The shoes were created by physically sewing them into the pants. A pair of plain loafers, they made the perfect shape for Pine's feet, and were easy to mold the spandex around. A great saver for the shoes was Fabrictac, which helped attach the fake sole, and also the black and white decoration.
The hardest part of the costume was probably the hat, which took around 6 hours to cover and make look right. It started life brown.
