Shiris - Record of the Lodoss War

Record of Lodoss War is a classic anime that Dahlia has fond memories of watching during Anime Club in high school. :) When Charmedseed and Inara began work on their own Lodoss costumes, Dahlia couldn't help but be tempted to join in as the lovable but hot-tempered mercenary, Shiris.

If it wasn't for Einlanzer's offer to make the armor and sword, this costume probably would not have happened, so Dahlia owes him a GIANT thank-you. :) The rest of the construction was pretty basic, though Dahlia had a heck of a time with Shiris's gravity-defying cape. With some divine instruction, she wound up building the cape on a frame (which lived a former life as a coat-hanger) in order to make the cape retain it's shape.

The wig also presented an interesting challenge. It lived a former life as a platinum blonde wig which Dahlia cut and styled. She then attempted to dye it using the acrylic ink method, though the results were not quite what she intended. With time being so short, Dahlia decided to wear the wig as-is and add another coat of ink after NDK, though when the convention finally came around, the wig wound up photographing just fine! :D
