Velma - Chicago (Movie)

For Dahlia's Senior Year Homecoming Parade, her Drama Club decided to make their parade float "Chicago"-themed, since the movie had recently come out. Dahlia was elected to "play" Velma, and she set-about gathering materials (sequined chiffon, regular chiffon, and fringe) to make her costume.

Using the knock-off (and highly inaccurate) Simplicity Chicago pattern, she managed to bust out not only a Velma dress, but a matching white dress for the girl "playing" Roxie--with most of the work being done in the wee hours of the morning before the parade.

Despite being rather simplistic and looking almost nothing like the movie dress, Dahlia still loves this costume (she got loads of compliments on it at the parade) and wishes she had more excuses to wear it! (It does make a cute evening gown....)
